2. SteamBans.com is a brand new service based on an old concept. Global ban lists have been active for years on the old WONID program from VALVe. When the change came to STEAMID it fell natural for us to develop a service specially minded to this new system. But we also wanted more.

4. The sometimes brainless acceptance of people's accusations and blind trust in anti-cheat detection tools seemed way too common in the "business". We wanted to create a service for admins that were interested in getting better at spotting and catching cheaters themselves. Fighting cheat developers and cheaters on their own terms (programming) were for us to hard a battle to go up head to head against (there are perfectly good tools available for that).

6. We wanted to focus on the cheater personally more then on the cheats he used. Our experience tells us that a cheater will eventually make mistakes and reveal his cheats, and we want admins ready to catch him when he does. This way we can base our catches on humans (server admins) and gain experience via them to develop better and more precise techniques for spotting cheats.

8. No system is perfect, and here at SteamBans we are not as ignorant as to claim that mistakes are never made. We do however think that we have rigid measures and countermeasures installed to diminish the chance of a false ban. Voting discussions, 3 admins needing to agree and the opportunity to call upon the skilled team of demo-consultants are some of the measures that allow us to be proactive and to diminish the chances of a false ban

The SteamBans MetaMod plugin (SBSRV) was designed to replace our rcon scanner. Upon connection to your server each and ever user is scanned to determine if their steamid exists in our database. If the user is determined to exist in our database and has been banned on the SteamBans network the plugin will then act towards them based on the settings you choose.

The settings available to you include


Do nothing (oo)
As it's name is this will instruct the plugin to do nothing when a positive match is found.

Active Log (al)
Active Log will tell the plugin to add a log notice to your server console. These logs will be saved in your normal HL server log.

Example:
[SBSRV] Active log for STEAM_0:X:XXXXXX

Passive Alert (pa)
Passive alert will alert your admins telling them that a positive match as been found. This relies on using the admin chat feature of your administration utility. This feature will work with AMX, AMXx, AdminMod and ClanMod.

Example:
(ADMINS) [::Steambans.com Message::]
(ADMINS) Passive alert for user PLAYER_NAME.
(ADMINS) For more information visit SteamBans.com!

Active Alert (aa)
Active alert will inform your whole server that a positive match has been found. This is done through rcon say and will show up to everyone. This option is recommended for league matches were Active Removal (see below) will cause you to forfeit the match.

Example:
Server say "[::Steambans.com Message::]"
Server say "Active alert for user PLAYER_NAME"
Server say "User PLAYER_NAME is logged for cheating."
Server say "For more information visit SteamBans.com!"

Active Removal - Default option (ar)
Active removal will inform your whole server that a positive match was found. After notification it will then proceed to temp ban the user for 120 minutes followed by a kick. This is the default plugin option and is the recommended setting for public servers.

Example:
Server say "[::Steambans.com Message::]"
Server say "User PLAYER_NAME is logged for cheating."
Server say "User PLAYER_NAME will now be removed."
Server say "For more information visit SteamBans.com!"

呵呵，这个没用了。这个东西类似008的黑名单插件了，不过这个是基于steamid的，中国有多少是正版？几乎都是nosteam。
